"A" HooDoo's Delight

With 375 participants on the tour, the organizers suggested that we split up into three groups and go to the three Parks on different days.  Our tour today would be to Bryce Canyon.  We visited these parks years ago and at that time our daughters unanimously picked Bryce as their favorite. Time will tell if that vote still holds.
We gathered in the parking lot for our 8:30 departure and everyone got started but me.  What!! I hit the starter and nothing happened.  A push start got me started and the ammeter seemed to act as the battery was fine.  Oh well, off to Bryce.  We also were happy to have Lou & Rose's daughter Clara travel with us today.  Bryce Canyon was 75 miles away and we cruised along at 50 MPH for most of the distance.  Departing Kanab we left the mountains behind and were in ranch county, with lots of cattle as we proceeded along.
We didn't have any problems and arrived at park and our first stop was at the Visitor Center for a bio break and learn about the park and it's famous HooDoos and the gift shop.  Next was it was off to Rainbow Point.  First though I had to see if my Model A would start.  I hit the starter button and nothing!  I really mean nothing,  The button didn't move. ??  I opened the hood only to find the starter button had worked itself off the switch.  Duh!  It was a quick fix.
The drive to the end of the park was very pleasant, especially with all the Model A's driving around, what a nice sight.  Needless to say the other park visitors were busy taking pictures of the Model A's.
The sights of the park are hard to describe and pictures really don't do the scenery justice.
We visited just about every overlook in the park and were in sensory overload with all the amazing scenery we saw.
It was getting late and a very late lunch needed before the ride back home.  Again the return trip was uneventful.
Total mileage today was 185.  Here a little video of us on the road:  Cruising Bryce Canyon

No Butts about it, what a view.

Just one of many amazing vistas

Here we are at Rainbow Point

Here is the crew (minus Don & Sue)

  2. Some of the gas stations here in Kanab sell real non ethanol gasoline. I bought some 91 octane stuff today for $3.67 per gallon. The airport here has 100 octane leaded aviation fuel.
